Chullpares of Huayllani – Peace
The Chullpares of Huayllani are located more than 50 kilometers from the Town of Patacamaya and near the Community of Ancaroma.
At this site, three funerary towers are located on a hill, separated by a meter of distance., They orient their entrance doors towards the east towards the sunrise; They are rectangular in shape and have a height of approximately 6 metros, They stand out in the landscape due to their large dimensions and the reddish color of their external walls..
The collapse of one of the towers allowed us to study the technique used in its construction, where the use of lightened adobes of ashen white color placed in a fresh state, It facilitated the interweaving of the adobes, forming a kind of fabric to later be painted red.. This construction technique has allowed the conservation of its shapes and details for more than 500 years. You should visit this archaeological site accompanied by locals. The ideal season to visit the chullpares is the months from May to September.
