Beni is a Bolivian department located in the north-central part of the country. It has a surface of 213 564 km² and an estimated population, according to the census 2012, of 425 780 inhabitants. Its political capital is the city of Trinidad. Bordered to the north by the department of Pando; northeast and east, with the Federative Republic of Brazil; to the southeast, with the department of Santa Cruz; to on, with the department of Cochabamba and to the west, with the department of La Paz.
