The Chullpares of Joko Pampa (Humid Pampa) they are found 17 kilometers northwest of the town of Patacamaya, distant 120 Kilometers south of La Paz on the road to the city of Oruro. This archaeological site is made up of constructions during the pre-colonial period, they were tombs where indigenous communities buried their deceased with their best clothing accompanied by utensils., food and other accessories on your way to the afterlife.

These buildings have an estimated age of 600 years and presumably would have been part of the buildings of the Aymara lordships that settled in the region. They present a high degree of deterioration caused by rain, the winds and the eventual looting, that occurred during the colony and the republican period. Many of the funerary buildings disappeared and only three of them remain. Some skeletal remains are scattered around the area..
