Laguna Chillata
The Chillata Lagoon is of glacial origin so its waters are icy., It is formed by the melting of the eternal snows of Nevado IlIampu. It is located at an approximate height of 4.183 m.s.n.m. and is considered one of the highest lagoons in the Andes Mountains. From that place you can see beautiful and lush landscapes., like the one in the Sorata Valley, the Apolobamba Mountain Range and the Real Mountain Range.
According to beliefs, its waters reflect the stone promontories that surround it., giving rise to the formation of curious figures that for metaphysicians and gnostics have a series of supernatural and spiritual meanings.. This attraction is ideal for adventure tourism, nature and recreation. The most recommended visiting season is during the months of May to September, having to resort to the company of a local guide or experienced community members to avoid incidents.
