Quiabaya Caves

The Quiabaya Caves are located in the northern part approximately 2 kilometers from the town center of the same name, among the vegetation typical of the region, very close to the main road, although with difficult access through a path that in each section allows you to appreciate the beauty of the environment.

The main cave is a rock formation that measures about 3 meters high and 2 wide. The population believes that during the colonial era it served as a weapons depot. To date, no detailed investigations have been carried out about this place due to the fear of the inhabitants of the myths and legends they have about the site.. It is recommended that visits be organized between the months of May to September.

Quiabaya Church

The community members tell their story of the building indicating that in the central part of the atrium there is a tunnel where, in colonial times, The nuns used it as clothing for religious ceremonies.. This enclosure was used in the War of Independence as a refuge and weapons depot.. There were vessels from the period and also human remains found there..
