Yarvicoya Church – Oruro

The Church of Yarvicoya is another notable example of the mestizo baroque art of Oruro, located a few kilometers from Oruro, within the jurisdiction of Caracollo, Province Fence, turning east from the highway to La Paz. the church, declared a national monument, It has a single nave with a triumphal arch, tester, plenary session and chorus, annexed tower and doorway carved entirely of stone. Dates from the 16th century, with samples of recent renovation and has an altarpiece painted with gold leaf, where snake figures are mimicked. In the place there are remains of mining exploitation from the colonial era.
