The Church of San Andrés de Machaca is located in the town of the same name. It was built between the years 1806 y 1836 during the last years of the colony, Independence and the first years of the Republic.

It belongs to the historical and cultural heritage of Bolivia, It is part of the complex of churches built in the region. Its construction follows the same architectural patterns of the Colony in its last stage.. It has a plant in the shape of a Latin cross, half orange dome and tower attached to the front; The cover is in the shape of a semicircular arch., Its ornamentation belongs to the mestizo baroque style.. Inside, canvases are preserved using the Collao School technique and poses with beautiful decorations.. It is considered one of the sacred places of indigenous peoples. This temple is linked to the churches of Pucarani, Charazani, Mocomoco, Jesus of Machaca, Copacabana, Tiwanaku and Taraco.

As in the aforementioned towns and following the Spanish model due to the importance that religious faith had in the process of conquest, The church was built in the central square of the town, on whose sides were the spaces for secular and military administration..
