St. Augustine Parish – Peace

The Parish of San Agustin is located in the town of Viacha and is built of stone. It has a nave covered with a continuous barrel with transept and transept., Externally the roof is covered by tiles; It has a dome in the shape of a half orange that rests on a stone drum. Inside there is a sober neoclassical style atmosphere., unlike the arches, the underbanks, the pendentives and the dome that are presented in an allegorical way. The mestizo baroque style is evident in much of its structure.. It is possible to observe it in the sculptural decoration of the angels and archangels., on the pedestals of the columns of the second body of the main altar, on the pediment above the niche, in the relief of Saint Augustine and in the frieze of the tower decorated with quatrefoils. At its ends you can find several kantutas carved., national emblem with the color of the Bolivian tricolor. These images are typical of the mestizo churches of the 18th century..
