Coacollo Archaeological Site – Peace
The archaeological site of Coacollo is located 6 kilometers from the town of Taraco, It has three groups known by the names of “Kala Uyuni”, "Pumani" y "Achachi Coacollo". In these sites you can see ceramic remains., pieces and bones scattered on the surface; are associated with the formative period of the region (1500 a.C. – 400 d.C.) that is, prior to the expansive development of the Tiwanaku State. The place that stands out the most is Achachi Coacollo, whose characteristic is made up of two semi-subterranean temples, located at the top of the highest hill in the area. Some of the remains found were subjected to investigation by the Taraco Archaeological Project.
