Portales Palace – Cochabamba
Palace of great architectural beauty was built between 1915 y 1927, It is located in the Queru Queru area, north of the city. It is currently in the custody of the Simón I Foundation. Patiño based in Geneva and is the building that houses the Simón I Pedagogical and Cultural Center. Patino since 1968. It was the residence of the Bolivian mining businessman Simón Iturri Patiño, who was called 'the tin baron'.
The French architect Eugène Bliault designed the Palace project, and was executed using artisanal labor and using construction materials brought from Europe – especially marble and wood.. The Palace is an example of eclectic style, that responded at the beginning of the 20th century to the taste of the European elites. In the Portales Palace, the different styles that make it up merge in such a way that the result is a complex of great harmony and integration..
