Russian Port – Peace

The Russian Port Community is located 23 kilometers south of the urban center of Ixiamas. You can reach this settlement by land or air.. The air connection must be made from the City of La Paz to Rurrenabaque. Starting from this town you reach San Buenaventura by previously crossing the Beni River., From this point the road trip continues to the town of Ixiamas.. There you can hire vehicles to Puerto Ruso. In this community they are settled 40 families of the original Chimán indigenous group also called “Tsimane”. Its inhabitants preserve their ancestral culture. In it, great respect is paid to the elderly for the wisdom they carry.. Traditional knowledge is transmitted orally. The “Tsimane” live off hunting, fishing and fruit gathering.
