Biosphere Reserve and Community Land of Origin Pilón Lajas

The Pilón Lajas Reserve is located between the Sud Yungas and Franz Tamayo provinces of the department of La Paz and the Ballivián province of the department of Beni.. The reserve has been recognized by UNESCO as an area of international interest, by virtue of its cultural and natural heritage. Several ecosystems converge there.: extremely humid piedmont forest, humid mountain forest, sub-Andean valley, evergreen forest and yungas.
